About Kilty Pleasure Tours

Hi, my name is Karen Tonks. I’m the founder and owner of Kilty Pleasure Tours, and I’m originally from Scotland, UK. I’m friendly, fun loving, energetic, and I’m also very enthusiastic about making sure others have a great time. My mission with KPT is to bring all the elements and ingredients to each and every passenger to allow you all to focus on fun, adventure and making memories on your particular tour of choice.

In an area where public transport isn’t readily available, I saw a need for a tour company that will be an asset to visitors and locals alike so everyone can see and experience what the surrounding area has to offer. I have lived in Hickory for almost 20 years and I want to share some of the social side of things I love about the Western part of NC with you all. So get onboard with seeing new sights, tasting new beverages and making new friends!

I’m starting out with beer and wine tours but I do have a vision to expand to more adventures to suit everyone as the business grows. The tartan bus provides private hire options for corporations and events such as festivals, weddings, spa or golf days, to name but a few!

My name is Steve McMonagle and my wife and I moved here from Colorado after spending 25 years in prison. Retired!! Not an inmate. Avid golfer and musician. I have played guitar for over 50 years and Bagpipes for almost 20 years off and on. I have had many jobs over the years including Talking Christmas tree, movie and TV extra, Border Patrol Agent, and many more. Looking forward to being your chauffeur and tour guide for a wonderfulltime indulging in some Kilty Pleasures! Steve

I’m a long time musician and a native of this area. I enjoy time with my family and grands . I have enjoyed working in the tourism field for the past several years and look forward to meeting lots of new friends..

Randy Treadway

My name is Randy Treadway. I am a lifelong resident of this area, Burke County to be exact. I have played golf since I was 12 years old, and I love the sport of Baseball. My passion is antique vehicles and I turned my hobby into a business selling classic cars, trucks and Parts for over 35 years. Lookin Forward to some fun trips and can’t wait to meet some new fun loving folks.
